What are the Measurement Considerations Before Choosing Blinds?

When choosing wooden blinds, you should consider the installation environment. Most users opt to install the blinds outside the window frame, attaching them to the wall outside the window opening to achieve better coverage. Generally, for outside-frame installation, we recommend adding 5 centimeters to the width on both the left and right sides, and 5 centimeters to the height at the top and bottom, to ensure the window opening is beautifully covered.

However, if there are obstacles on one or both sides, ensure that the additional 5 centimeters on the left and right sides will not cause the blinds to hit or be too close to the obstacles. If necessary, adjust the width to match the width of the window opening to prevent the blinds from hitting obstacles when closed.

Advantages of Blinds: Diverse Styles and Flexible Matching

  1. Color Diversity: Blinds provide a variety of hues and textures to adapt to different home styles.
  2. Space Saving: Similar to the up-and-down retractable operation method of roller blinds, they do not take up space and offer a neat appearance.
  3. Excellent Shading and Privacy: High shading and privacy can be achieved by adjusting the blade angle.
  4. Maintain Ventilation: The gaps between the blades help maintain air circulation and keep the room fresh.

Disadvantages of Blinds: Limited Applicable Space

  1. Not Suitable for Kitchen Use: Oil fumes can make cleaning more difficult, so installation in the kitchen is not recommended.
  2. Special Environments Require Special Materials: In humid bathroom environments, blinds made of waterproof materials must be used.

Can Blinds be Installed on Different Window Types? Is the Usage the Same?

Venetian blinds are commonly used on residential windows. They can be installed outside or within the frame, depending on your preference.

However, avoid installing blinds on windows that are too large, as solid wood blinds are not light. The larger the window, the more difficult it is to operate, and the lifespan of the weight-bearing hardware parts will be shortened. But there is a solution for everything! If you can accept installing multiple blinds on large windows, this can resolve the issue. Alternatively, you can switch the drawstring to a bead chain or upgrade to an electric system for easier and more durable operation.

How Can Blinds Be Matched with Interior Style or Needs?

Wooden blinds have become a new favorite in interior design due to their versatility. Here’s how to match them with different styles:

  1. Bright and Simple Styles (Nordic, Minimalist, American): Clean white wooden blinds are recommended to make the space feel refreshing and comfortable.
  2. British Industrial Style: Dark wooden blinds complement the clean and neat industrial style, echoing the gray-toned furniture in the room.
  3. Japanese Muji Style: For a natural and simple Japanese look, solid wood color wooden blinds are the best choice, providing a warm and relaxed ambiance.

In some cases, Venetian blinds are mixed with other types of curtains, such as horizontally folding snake curtains. If the light transmitted through the wooden blinds is too strong, add a layer of window screen to soften the light. For full blackout effects, add a layer of cloth curtains to enhance the light-blocking effect significantly.
